It’s late 90s fashion meets high school drama between two cliques; and the golden brown hero who can mysteriously even the score. LUMPIA is an entire mood. Meet the filmmaking team behind this indie favorite, and get fresh hot news on what’s coming for the sequel, LUMPIA WITH A VENGEANCE.
Featuring:
Marie Jamora (Host)
Marie Jamora is a musician-director whose stories often explore the rhythms of youth through music. Recently named one of the “Five Visionary Asian American Female Filmmakers” in Kore Magazine's “New Hollywood” issue, her short film, FLIP THE RECORD, screened at over thirty festivals worldwide, winning the Grand Jury Awards for "Best Narrative Short" at Urbanworld and the St. Louis International Film Festival. It was also submitted for consideration at the 90th Academy Awards. Her acclaimed first feature, WHAT ISN'T THERE, premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and has been considered one of the Top 10 Filipino Films of the 2010s. She is the executive producer and director of FAMILY STYLE, an Asian food and pop culture show with Justin Lin's YOMYOMF and Warner Bros/Stage 13. Marie is the first Filipina director to be accepted into AFI's Directing Workshop for Women, where she wrote and directed HARANA, a proof of concept for her next feature film.
Patricio Ginelsa
Patricio Ginelsa is from Daly City, CA where he discovered his passion making neighborhood movies at the age of 13. After graduating with a degree in cinema production at USC, he became the associate producer of THE DEBUT and wrote/directed the feature LUMPIA. Ginelsa has directed over a decade’s worth of music videos, including “The Apl Song” for Black Eyed Peas. Calomay has produced a decade's worth of indie projects, which feature a predominantly Filipino American cast and crew, such as music videos for Black Eyed Peas, Bambu, and Rocky Rivera, as well as the feature films LUMPIA and LUMPIA WITH A VENGEANCE. As an editor and assistant editor, Calomay has worked on various unscripted and long form scripted shows (COVERT AFFAIRS, MR ROBOT, SPEED RACER). Calomay's latest released project is HUNTERS on Amazon, executive produced by Academy Award winner Jordan Peele. Calomay is currently an assistant editor for an upcoming Apple TV+ sci-fi series produced by Simon Kinberg.
