Athens, April 1967. During the first days of the military dictatorship, Loukas is suffocating in his family’s apartment, which he is not allowed to leave. In 2021, she directed her first short Sacralisons. La Première Image is her first fiction. La Première Image

Part comedy-drama, part historical chronicle, La Première Image is above all a political coming-of-age, a film about the power of the imagination and childhood in times of dictatorship.

Thomas and Daphne, a couple in their mid-thirties, leave Athens for a peaceful three-day getaway in the countryside. That same evening, an unexpected encounter with a hunter and his dog upends their plans.<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/0d3f6b8ea147385ec00d83fdaf1b1dd2.jpg" width="127">From 2006 to 2009, he studied film at Middlesex University in London and completed his studies in 2011 with a Master's degree in Digital Documentary at the University of Sussex, Brighton. His master's thesis, the short documentary "Blind Dreams", about what dreams blind people "see", was an official entry at the Chalkida Documentary Festival. During his studies, he co-created the 2D animation series "To Periptero", producing and directing2 episodes. After his studies, he worked in multiple positions (writer / producer / 2nd unit director / A.D ) in the multi-year international production of the mini-documentary series "Eleven" (currently in post production). In recent years he has been working as an Assistant Director on commercials, series and films, collaborating with distinguished directors. He was 1st Assistant Director on the Cannes award winning short film "On Xerxes' Throne" by Evi Kalogiropoulou, and was 1st Assistant Director on Dennis Iliadis' latest film "Buzzheart". An aquatic malady threatens a forgotten coastal village. Confronted with this rising marine crisis, three young fishermen resort to illegal dynamite fishing. Thanasis Trouboukis explores cinema on the fluid border between fiction and documentary. His work questions memory, reality, dreams and the ambiguity between them. He is a graduate of Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains in France. His short films have been selected by numerous festivals, among them Oberhausen ISFF, Sarajevo FF, Palm Springs IFF, Hong Kong IFF, CPH:DOX, Vienna Shorts, Encounters FF and Montréal Festival du Nouveau Cinéma. He is currently developing his feature-length directorial debut, supported by Greek Film Centre (GFC), Onassis Culture and Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC).

Her films are a perpetual gaze at human behavior in an attempt to understand human condition through the cinematic lens. Lately, she combines and experiments with various analogue formats, along with recycling found footage, creating this way a mosaic effect. On a snowy rural road, a diverse group of people is confronted with a macabre discovery. Two workers sent out to lay dirt on an icy road end up scattering human bones along the path. In this setting, the workers, along with local representatives, are called to come up with a solution to the problem they have unearthed.
