MMXX is a short film which visualizes an emotional state of mind in today's world of 2020. Due to the devastating outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, fear has been a constant companion for many of us. Just so the feeling of loneliness. The required distance from each other – not being able to touch, to hug, to lean on someone's shoulder – made the virus not only a danger to our body, but to our soul.
Beautifully performed by Patricia Friza and Aleix Martinez. Music by my father Michael Hoppé, and edited by Christopher Fleig. Shot during lockdown, Hamburg, April 2020. Music credit: Pie Jesu is from the album Peace & Reconciliation by Michael Hoppé. Conducted by Ryan Holder, and sung by the Sedona Academy of Chamber Singers with the Tetra String Quartet.
