Director Biography - David Chang , Kody Kohlman
David’s love for filmmaking began early in his youth when he was gifted a miniDV handicam for a school project. As smaller cameras grew into production grade cinema cameras, his passion for storytelling and cinematography grew much faster. Now with extensive experience in documentary, commercial, and narrative video production,
David has been immersed in a variety of projects all over the world.
It was through skateboarding that Kody discovered photography and his love for documenting the characters, scenarios and subtle intricacies of the culture that surrounded him. In his mid-twenties, Kody took a year to teach English in an isolated, rural village in Thailand, which is where the path he wanted to take his work truly developed. His focus moved in the direction of human-centric storytelling, and he applied this focus to the worlds of commercial photography and documentary-oriented cinematography.
