Lekha is a high school senior who’s determined to go to prom. She sneaks out and hightails it to a pre-prom party at the home of her crush, Michael. Before she knows it, they share an intimate encounter, and Lekha is over the moon that she's finally been noticed by him. But once they go back to the party, Michael abruptly puts his arm around another girl in the prom photos, and it feels as though their encounter never happened. After retaliating in a bold way, she skips out on prom. Her mother finds her sitting on the curb, in desperate need of empathy.
