Set in rural Venezuela, when a deaf young man asks his estranged older brother to join him in a musical contest, this salt-of-the-earth blue collar worker must dust off his musical chops in order to be his little brother's voice, so that the world can finally hear him.

Alex is a young deaf man who asks Leo, his older brother, to accompany him in a musical competition. Through his brother's voice, Alex will have the possibility of fulfilling his dream, although it will be a challenge that will test his skills, his capacity for perseverance and resilience in a society not suitable for inclusion. 

The Shadow of the Sun was conceived as a love letter to Venezuelan spirit. A spirit that, despite the overwhleming obstacles it faces on a daily basis, pushes forward in pursuit of its dreams. It is a story about never losing hope for a better tomorrow. The Shadow of the Sun was the Venezuelan entry for the Best International Feature Film.
