Humans can project their thoughts onto any environment - and then transform it. Perhaps it is the act of making the impossible possible, or perhaps it simply fulfills capitalism’s unbridled desires. Or, maybe, it is just an absurd attempt at the construction of utopia. These projects methodically study the interactions between humans as well as the humanization of the environment around them.
Using anonymous home movie footage of Expo ’67 in Montreal, the artist sets out to recreate a memory that perhaps never existed. Celluloid manipulation and sound decay techniques coalesce to transform a fabled landscape into a sublime expanse of disintegrated memory.
