Against All Odds: Surviving the Holocaust focuses on Survivor stories outside the concentration camp where each day was uncertain and their discovery almost always meant death. The film showcases four such extraordinary Survivors whose stories will now be memorialized: Gerald Beigel, Ryszarda Rozenblum, Walter Lebensohn, and Anita Karl. Miami filmmaker and MJFF alum Paul Bachow (A Journey into the Holocaust) digs deep into the psyche of these heroes, each from different cities, and provides an in-depth look at what it took to survive outside of the concentration camps amongst the general population.
Accompanying the film premiere is a discussion with director Paul Bachow, film subject/Holocaust Survivor Anita Karl, and moderator Rabbi Laila Haas, Director of Adult Learning and Growth at CAJE. To view the conversation please click here.
