This quirky, feel-good portrait delves into the world of 93-year-old humanist Gabor Szilasi, a photographer who has spent the last 60 years portraying the eloquence of everyday life in his adopted country, Canada, and in Quebec in particular. Gabor tells the story of an immigrant Jew fleeing Hungary in 1956, arriving in Canada by boat and creating for himself a rich life full of friends, family, and an extraordinary career. In the tradition of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Paul Strand, Gabor's work stands apart in its touching humanism. With remarkable candor and kindness, Gabor provides insights into his process, while sharing valuable lessons on how to grow old with elegance and dignity.
