When Tango Meets Klezmer is a tribute to the musical couple Rosa and Ernesto Honigsberg, whose story of resilience is a celebration of South American Jewish musicians and a heartfelt love letter to the Jews of Brazil, many of whom immigrated to the country to escape the rise of Nazism and the Second World War. Directed by Ernesto Honigsberg’s grandson, the film features rare photographs, letters, diaries, documents and nine unique compositions by Ernesto in the traditional style of tangos and klezmer.

Accompanying the film premiere is a discussion with director Ernesto Mifano Honigsberg and moderator Dr. Sandra Lilienthal, a professional educator at CAJE's Melton School. To view the conversation please click here.
