Inspired by a true story, this compassionate drama from Erez Tadmor (MJFF 2023 Audience Award-winning film Matchmaking) gives voice to those on the periphery, often unnoticed and uncared for. In the heart of Tel Aviv's Neve Tzedek neighborhood, an aged house serves as a refuge for youth from troubled backgrounds. Jackie (Roy Assaf, MJFF 2019 film The Art of Waiting), a young man thrust into the role of running the shelter after the unexpected passing of its legendary founder, discovers that the old house actually belongs to the Tel Aviv municipality and, even worse, has been acquired by a businessman with intentions to demolish it and construct a boutique hotel on its ruins. Together with the house’s at-risk youth, Jackie launches a relentless campaign against the municipality’s representatives to save the house, which, for the youth it shelters, is their last refuge, their last lifeline.
