What does the wedding ceremony of two religious Jewish gay men look like? Or the pregnancy of a trans-religious man? Or a Sefardi circumcision of a son born to two lesbian mothers? The Holy Closet features seven stories depicting life cycle moments of LGBTQ Jews who chose to remain religious, building their daily lives, relationships, and families according to Jewish tradition. This is a celebratory, heartfelt, and often humorous exploration of the lives of queer Jews who are actively reshaping the landscape of Orthodoxy in Israel.

Accompanying the film premiere is a discussion with Eshel founding director Rabbi Steve Greenberg, and panelists Orit Avishai, Linda Sugarman, Joshua Avishur, Daniel Gammerman, and Dr. Dani Rosenkrantz. To view the conversation please click here.

This panel discussion was made possible with the support of Eshel, a national organization that provides a future and hope for Orthodox LGBTQ people by supporting them and their families. To learn more about Eshel visit eshelonline.org
