Nicknamed "Hunting Jack," Jack Kooistra, a 92-year-old former Nazi hunter from the Netherlands, gained notoriety for his relentless pursuit of former Nazis during the 1960s. In his quest, he successfully tracked down approximately one hundred former Nazis and collaborators, including Dutch SS members like Adolf de Man, Klaas Epskamp, Gerardus Weimar, and Herbertus Bikker. Jack’s selection of targets appeared random, but it was methodical — he picked names from court lists and evaluated their actions and legal accountability. Over four decades of dedication and research, he amassed an extensive archive. His material primarily came from disillusioned investigators who witnessed the Dutch government's limited interest in pursuing war criminals who had fled. Despite facing threats to his life for years, Jack never wavered, continuing his mission to bring Nazis to justice.
