Like a sinister detective story, this distinctive film spans epochs of perilous paranoia to connect the dots of history’s oldest conspiracy theory: a secret cabal of Jews controls the world. The ordeals of three prominent scapegoats — German financier Max Warburg, Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky, and French soldier Alfred Dreyfus — reveal the evolution of Jewish demonization over time. Motion-capture performance and archival materials envisage how this hate-filled ideology festered and led to brutal violence. As anti-Jewish hostility increasingly filters into today’s mainstream, this chilling probe could not be timelier. Featuring music by Klezmatics co-founder Frank London, The Conspiracy orchestrates bold, striking hand-drawn 3D animation, archival footage, and exceptionally talented voice artists — including Mayim Bialik, Liev Schreiber, Lake Bell, and Jason Alexander — to walk us through almost 250 years of anti-Semitic ideology, focusing on how times of uncertainty give rise to anxieties in marginalized populations.
