Al Tira (Do Not Fear): Diary from a Nation at War is a deeply moving documentary by lawyer and artist Jonathan York, offering an intimate glimpse into the daily lives of Israelis during the conflict that began on October 7th. Filmed entirely on York's iPhone during a three-week stay in December 2023, the film presents a raw and unfiltered look at the emotional highs and lows of life in Israel, from the solemnity of a soldier's funeral to the everyday peculiarities of wartime. Spanning locations from Kibbutz Beeri to Hostage Square, Al Tira presents a compelling portrait of a nation confronting the harsh realities of conflict while striving to maintain a sense of normalcy. Through its personal lens, the film captures the resilience and humanity of a people striving to find normalcy amid chaos, leaving a profound impression of strength in the face of grief and adversity.
