11-time Israeli Academy Award-nominated director Jasmine Kainy captures the immense trauma and grief felt by three generations of the Gad family, who survived the devastating Hamas assault on October 7th, beginning just two days after their rescue. This intimate documentary follows their painful journey through shock, trauma, and grief, as they navigate personal and communal loss. With their closest friends murdered or abducted and their homes destroyed, the family remains determined to rebuild Be’eri’s community while grappling with despair. Despite their fears, a glimmer of hope shines in each family member, from grandparents to grandchildren, as they strive to restore their once-lush Kibbutz, haunted by the question: Will they ever return to Be’eri?
