A witty, wide-ranging, and deeply moving documentary, Forever Endeavor explores the often absurd lengths people go to in pursuit of an everlasting legacy. Co-directed by historian Jonathan Mann and Mary Anne Rothberg, the film reflects on life’s fleeting nature with warmth, humor, and keen insight.

The documentary brings together an extraordinary cast of voices, including author Tom Wolfe as his bust is sculpted, as well as Dr. Henry Heimlich, TCM host Robert Osborne, and Apollo 13 astronaut Jim Lovell shortly before their deaths. Contributions from a rabbi, a historian, a paleontologist, a New York Times obituary writer, and a Central Park plaque installer further illuminate the universal human quest for meaning.

Forever Endeavor is a thoughtful and whimsical journey through life’s heaviest questions, offering laughter, insight, and ultimately, a quiet understanding of what it means to leave a mark.
