Lior Raz (Fauda) delivers a powerful performance as Shalom Gottlieb, a former WWII partisan leader turned soda factory foreman in a modest Israeli neighborhood of Holocaust survivors in the early 1950s. When Eva (Rotem Sela, Beauty and the Baker), a radiant seamstress with a young daughter, arrives, her presence electrifies the community—and awakens whispers of a dark past as a possible Nazi collaborator.

As rumors spread and old wounds reopen, the close-knit residents, still haunted by nightmares and illness, grapple with love, guilt, and survival. Shalom’s growing passion for the enigmatic Eva threatens to betray both his family and the fragile trust among his fellow survivors. Tensions rise toward an impossible choice that will test the limits of forgiveness.

Nominated for three Israeli Academy Awards, this visually striking and deeply human drama draws inspiration from director Erez Tadmor’s (Matchmaking 2, MJFF ’25) grandfather—a resistance fighter who rebuilt his life among fellow survivors—offering a haunting portrait of a postwar generation living in the shadow of unimaginable trauma.
