Winner of five Israeli Academy Awards (Ophirs), including Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Cinematography, this poignant drama is a riveting exploration of family, memory, and reconciliation. Marina (MJFF alum Neta Riskin, Shtisel), an Israeli lawyer who escaped her suffocating Georgian upbringing years ago, is drawn back to her remote mountain village when tasked with representing Nino—a woman seeking to reclaim the son she left behind more than a decade earlier.

But the boy’s guardian, Nino’s embittered brother Dato, refuses to forgive the abandonment, igniting a confrontation that soon transcends the courtroom. Against a backdrop of snowbound landscapes and deep-seated traditions, Marina is forced to confront her own buried past while navigating a patriarchal, fiercely guarded community. What begins as a tense standoff evolves into a hauntingly intimate journey—one bristling with unspoken desire, cultural divides, and the fragile hope of forgiveness.

A visually stunning and emotionally charged debut feature by Eli Tsicko, Nandauri captivates from its first frame to its last.
