BLAZING TRAIL – 9 minutes – by SouthBound Collective – from Queensland – Caine Warburton is an Australian firefighter and accomplished, sponsored trail runner. This story follows Caine through The Scenic Rim, as the worlds of a sponsored athlete and professional firefighter collide.

GO JOSIE – 12 minutes – by Gingerly Films – from Charlotte, NC – An overachieving Asian-American woman quits her dream job to pursue a career as a paracyclist, single-handedly.

UNDERSTORY – A JOURNEY INTO THE TONGASS – 40 minutes – by Colin Arisman – from VT Short synopsis: Three women set sail on a 350 mile expedition through Alaska’s massive Tongass National Forest, exploring how clearcut logging in this coastal rainforest could affect wildlife, local communities and our planet’s climate.

INTERMISSION

IF I TELL THEM – 12.43 minutes – by Oliver Sutro – from CO – James Sampsel, a plein air painter and fly-fishing guide, comes to terms with his past and a bi-polar diagnosis that hangs over his future.

SUFFERFEST – 11 minutes – by Tyler Graim – from USA, CO, Denver – Katie and Dominic are both Ultra-Runners who run 100 mile foot races all over the country. In this film, they discuss the intense physical and mental pain that comes with running these psychotic races, but also the amazing euphoria that comes with completing such an immense physical feat.

JUNIPER RIDGE LANDFILL MEGADUMP PART 1 – 16.57 minutes – by Sunlight Media Collective – from Maine – Each year, over 200,000 tons of toxic out-of-state waste is disposed of at Juniper Ridge Landfill in Maine. A citizen proposed bill will soon be introduced in the Maine State Legislature which aims to close a loophole allowing an interstate commercial waste operation to profit by laundering regional toxic waste material into this landfill.

YOU CAN’T GET THERE FROM HERE – 10.5 minutes – by Jamie Walter, Taylor Walker, Chris Shane – from Maine – In June of 2020, Chris Bennett and Chris Shane set out on an epic Maine adventure: a 10 day, 700+ mile backpacking trip from York to Lubec. Their goal? See as much of the state’s 3,478 miles of coastline as they could. Exploring lighthouses and lobster shacks, beaches and mountains, the two discover that sometimes the best adventures can be found right in your own backyard.
