YOU CAN'T GET THERE FROM HERE - 10.5 minutes - by Jamie Walter, Taylor Walker, Chris Shane - from Maine

Short synopsis: In June of 2020, Chris Bennett and Chris Shane set out on an epic Maine adventure: a 10 day, 700+ mile backpacking trip from York to Lubec. Their goal? See as much of the state’s 3,478 miles of coastline as they could. Exploring lighthouses and lobster shacks, beaches and mountains, the two discover that sometimes the best adventures can be found right in your own backyard.

RATTLESNAKE TO WESTWATER - 20 minutes - by Hank Leukart - from California

Short synopsis: Two lifelong friends, Hank and Jake, travel to Colorado to attempt backpacking, with packrafts, into the Colorado River on a seldom-used, steep route through Rattlesnake Canyon. On the River, they head into Utah in the tiny boats, hoping to tackle whitewater in the narrowest part of the entire Colorado River: Westwater Canyon.

PROJECT 20/20 - 9 minutes - by Geoff Nickerson - from Maine

Short synopsis: This film documents an artist's journey along the Island Maine Island Trail.

FOLLOWING LINES - 59.75 minutes - by François Léger-Savard - from Quebec

Short synopsis: Seeking a deeper encounter with the territory of the Inuit, six paddlers plan to make the first recorded descent of a little-known river in northern Quebec. This mapping expedition, beset by adverse weather conditions and other unforeseeable situations, is also, for the filmmaker, a reminder of his ancestry.

THE FERRYMAN - 8.4 minutes - by Carlo Nasisse - from Athens, Georgia (Lives in Mexico City)

Short synopsis: Greg Caruso’s office is an 18 foot canoe on a remote section of Maine’s Kennebec River. Greg is a ferryman for hikers completing the 2,190 mile long Appalachian Trail. This documentary short explores Greg’s lifelong connection to rivers, and his occupation that is defined by a simple and beautiful daily passage across the Kennebec River.

45 MINUTES BY PLANE - 9.83 minutes - by Guillaume Knobloch - from MA

Short synopsis: Guillaume was looking for a way to get from Montreal, QC to Portland ME to surprise his girlfriend. In desperate need of adventure, and with the aim of helping the environment, he decided to bike home. Little did he know that this crazy idea would turn out to be his greatest adventure yet.
