Hong Kong’s pioneer moving image artist Ellen Pau has, for more than three decades, sought to reveal the interconnectedness of humanity with our environment. Through a deft interplay of sound and visuals, Pau’s videos sharpen audiences’ perception of different frequencies, be they subtle rhythms of the city, historical reverberations, or the underlying thrum of human relations.

In this four-day screening programme, audiences are given a rare opportunity to view a suite of Ellen’s historic videos made between 1988 and 2015. Each video includes an audio commentary by the artist, describing the ideas and inspiration behind each work, and their place within her creative evolution.
