Kayla Jo Farris Co-Director/Actor

Kayla has been performing since the age of three, screeching at the top of her lungs and dancing along to Barney. “I wanna be one of those kids on the screen,” she said — and she meant it. Flash forward, and her credits now include The Umbrella Academy (Netflix), How to Die Alone (Hulu), and the upcoming feature film Crossover: Immortal Sins. An ambitious believer, it only made sense for her to expand into writing and self-directing original work. Currently in post-production, her short film Somewhere Along the Ever-Evolving Spiral explores her coming-out journey and the often fluctuating ground of identity. You can also find audio performances of her spoken-word poetry on Substack at The Hive Inside My Mind.

This marks the third collaboration between Robin, Kayla, and the Flawed Designs team. With Kayla now calling Vancouver Island home, the unique experience of bringing a story to life from opposite sides of the country couldn't have been more rewarding.
