100% Girl tells the story of a woman trying to be the best wife. The dialogue is in Chinese with English sub-titles. It is a student production by a junior high school student from Taiwan who is a first time filmmaker
I like the hand-drawn animation and soundtrack. Interesting that this entire film was made using a mobile phone. This film is really a short anecdote in which the 100% girl finds the 100% boy, both discovering that “a happy life requires mutual consideration and care.”
Juror's comments: I found this short piece to be cheerful and insightful. The line drawings make simple, yet effective animation. The background music is cute and upbeat. At the end, we see photographs of two actual people and it makes one wonder if they are who the story is about.
I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for a youth and family film festival, also a student film festival since the filmmaker is a student from Taiwan. An audience of 5 to 16 would appreciate this, perhaps adults also.
