For twenty-five year old Erick Silva, a native of San Jose, CA, his role as a social studies teacher at a charter high school is an important responsibility; it is the opportunity to be a model of both joy and passion for his students everyday. On Task observes and presents his experience from the hopes he has for his students to the worries he has for a future without the familial ties he had growing up. Through the highs and the lows, Erick is determined to persist and to stay “on task”.

While laws in California have now made healthcare available for undocumented young people, undocumented adults continue to be excluded. COVER/AGE follows an elderly caregiver and a policy advocate in the campaign to expand healthcare to include all people, regardless of immigration status or age.
