In 1966 in Plaquemines Parish, La, a 19-year-old Black fisherman tries to break up a fight between white and Black teenagers outside their newly integrated school. Having laid his hand on one, he is soon arrested for touching a white boy’s arm! Gary Duncan stands up to the most powerful white supremacist in Louisiana with the aid of a young Jewish attorney. Systemic racism meets its match in decisive courtroom battles including a landmark case in the U.S. Supreme Court. Their friendship resonates today as whites and Blacks ally to protest the rise of white nationalism and fight for justice.
