Comprising both narrative and documentary shorts, the five films in this block each share the theme of migrating young folks. Through movements both physical and internal, these adolescents and those around them embark on travels that see them affirm and problematize the timeless question of selfhood.

On a bus ride from New York to Oklahoma, Meyi, a young Ugandan American girl, realizes her place in the world through her immigrant mother’s ambitious efforts to reunite their family.
