The Stranger

Inspired by Evan Hunter's (The Birds, High and Low) early short story The Last Spin, Xpendable tells the story of a dispute between two crime organizations and the decision to settle matters with a representative from each club. Whereas the original story dealt with juvenile males from rival gangs, Xpendable shifts the focus to age and gender, along with a dose of black humor. Filmed in Medford and Jacksonville, Oregon, over four days during 2022 and featuring actors Preston Mead, Annette MacGregor, Adam Lewis, Jeffrey Hunter, and Johnny Whelchel, along with a production crew consisting of family and friends, Xpendable is director/producer Walter Haussnerâ's love letter to Film Noir and David Mametâ's view that old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance.

Corey must succeed no matter what. Miri must not let anyone break her heart. As their relationship reaches its tipping point, they must choose between their ingrained beliefs, and the undeniable connection that binds them.

With life pulling each of them in separate directions, the ambitions of a longtime pop-punk band have become unsustainable. With only 24 hours left until their final show, each of them must face the realities of this closing chapter.

End of an Era

The weekend of JFK's assassination as seen through the eyes of a seven-year-old boy. With minimal understanding of "the President" he tries to process the sadness that consumes his mother, grandparents, and the people across the nation grieving on the news. The weekend contrasts the tragic loss of a beloved President while finding some semblance of normalcy and joy as the family celebrates his little brother's sixth birthday the very next day.
