- NoteBorn and raised in Lake Charles, La., John was constantly writing short stories, outlining comics, and dreaming up movies from a young age. After high school, he moved to New Orleans to study philosophy, but the need to entertain people never left him. After several years playing in bands in Austin, TX, John moved to Los Angeles and began working in earnest on a number of horror feature scripts. In the meantime, he learned the ropes of feature film production over 12 years as a PA, 2nd AD, Production Manager, and Line Producer on a variety of features and commercials. He also began producing and directing his own horror shorts, which have played to festival audiences in the US and abroad. John lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Eri Hawkins, and their two dogs.
