
Machismo has been pervasive within the chicanx-latinx culture for centuries and has been the source of conflict for many relationships. Te Amo, Mijo explores the Castro’s intergenerational experience with machismo through the testimony of James Castro. The Castro’s moved to Chino from Mexico and have lived there for two generations now. This film shows us that even though fathers and sons have tension at times due to gender expectations, they love each other nonetheless.
