Stories aren't always found. Sometimes they're willed into existence by a big heart, a wild imagination, cheap stock photos, Keynote and iMovie. This is the Tale of Big Oaky. It's about a grandfather, his grandson, the yarns we weave, and the choices that define us. I call this a Slop Motion Production because my film is anything but polished or heavily produced. In fact, Big Oaky is the opposite of that. And that was the point. To create a film that relied almost entirely on story vs production values. The film’s tagline is, “There’s a lesson in here for us all.” That refers to the moral of our story, but the same can be said for the methods of its creation. We all have the itch to tell our stories. I sincerely hope to have opened a door with “Tales of Big Oaky.”
