The Middle is a short experimental drama that tells the story of Maggie, a young woman who moves to Toronto to make a life for herself. The Middle is told in an innovative&nbsp;split-screen format, the scenes in the&nbsp;left frame moving forwards&nbsp;in time, and the scenes in the&nbsp;right frame moving backwards&nbsp;in time.&nbsp;This film is Maggie’s story from the way she remembers it;&nbsp;a reflection of the memories and moments she pairs together in her mind.&nbsp;The split screen and non linear timeline explore a different mode of storytelling&nbsp;- allowing the audience to experience Maggie's journey with perspective and hindsight.&nbsp;The examination of memory in Maggie’s life offers a novel experience for the viewer that evokes a nostalgic and melancholic emotion - one that reminds us of the passage of time and moments that we carry with us.

Each year during spring and fall migration over 1.3 Billion birds die in North America as a result of window collisions. Together, a network of dedicated volunteers head out each morning to pick up the pieces.For over 30 years FLAP (Fatal Light Awareness Program) volunteers have patrolled cities worldwide in search of birds that have collided with windows. While their efforts have saved an impressive number of bird collision survivors, many do not survive the impact. But the fallen birds are never left behind. Their bodies are collected and their lives honoured in the annual "Bird Layout". The Layout brings volunteers together who arrange the dead birds in an emotive and provocative display. While The Layout honours the fallen birds and brings closure for the volunteers, it is also a critical event in providing public awareness.

They fill their days cleaning vents, rewiring fuses, and throwing well-worn tennis balls down dimly lit-corridors in games of fetch.Overwhelmed by the scale of scope of the job, the man slides into depression, causing the station to malfunction catastrophically!When the human realizes he can’t reach the last escape pod in time, he throws his tennis ball towards it… His dog, following instinct, chases the ball into the pod and is propelled to safety, inadvertently leaving the human behind!But the dog’s devotion is too much, so he resolved to journey back across the universe to either save his human… or die along aside him.
