"We Are Mermaids", offers an intimate look at what it takes to become a world-famous Weeki Wache Springs Mermaid and the lasting effects on those who are able to enter a world where time and physical limitations are suspended. Weeki Wachee Springs is one of Florida's last remaining roadside attractions where for 70 years, women have been performing underwater mermaid shows in North America's largest natural spring. Cast under the shadow of Disney World only miles away, the park struggles to survive as the performers continue to perfect the craft of aquatic ballet. The Legendary Sirens, a group of women whose ages range from 63-80 have returned to inspire as they defy the limits of age by continuing to swim as well as educate for the protection of the spring and environment.

With her daughter Yoshiko diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and her husband overseas serving in the military, Saki Omura is finding it harder and harder to cope. Too ashamed to burden others and too proud to ask for help, Saki faces the now-daunting task of giving her daughter the best life possible.

The Magic Hour, a documentary about aging in place, stars Maria Emilia (Artist and Writer), Janet Roberts (Traveling Activist/Speaker), Angie Knowles (Fabric Designer), Neverne Covington (Illustrator/Painter), Paula Kramer (Choreographer/Dancer) and Inge Mooney (Worldwide Traveler and Troublemaker) discuss aging in place including their thoughts on sex, regrets, relationships, body image, money and spirituality. Their thoughts range from hilarious to melancholy.

The Magic Hour

In the wake of the high school shootings in Parkland, Florida, concerned citizens travel by bus to the State Capitol to debate legislators about an urgent issue: Gun Reform. A community for change is created during the next election, rooted in the newfound strength of a movement led by stay-at-home moms, one of whom decides to run for public office for the first time in honor of her baby boy and in memory of the fallen children.

Cory Conacher's Stanley Cup dreams halt when he is reassigned from the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning down to the minors. Rather than seek a trade to a rival NHL team, he commits to earning his way back up, motivated by the Lightning’s projected odds to win the Stanley Cup. As we trace Cory’s impressive early childhood playing sports, we meet Shannon and her newborn son Callum. She reveals the hardships of raising a child with a largely absent father, confiding a deep sense of isolation, instability and anxiety. Despite Cory’s obvious talents, Cory’s father exposes that his short stature, diagnosis with diabetes, and relative youth defined Cory as an easily dismissed underdog. Shannon discloses that Callum was born via IVF, a difficult process, where she was supported by her mother-in-law, Debbie. Debbie easily empathizes, having had a child herself with a rare bladder disorder where the corrective surgery left her son with an impaired walk into adulthood. Back in Syracuse, Cory continues to out-perform, maintaining a prime position as the next potential call up to the majors. After being selected and winning the AHL All Stars game, he returns to his hometown for a family dinner where he reveals that he is the father to Callum, husband to Shannon, the son born with bladder exstrophy to Debbie, and resolutely undefeated in his pursuit to return to the NHL.
