Hidden Master: The Legacy of George Platt Lynes, preceded by short film One Story at a Time: Celeste Lecesne

George Platt Lynes was one of the first openly gay American artists. He began his career photographing celebrities, and was well-known in his day for his extravagant fashion photography. But his passion and his greatest talent lay in his work with the male nude, which was sensuous and radically explicit for its time. This fascinating documentary presents a stunning collection of photography from the 1930s to the 1950s, and delves into the artist’s long-term friendships with Gertrude Stein and Alfred Kinsey.
