Spanning centuries, Silencio follows multiple generations of a vampiric family as they navigate humanity’s deadliest epidemics: the Black Plague in the 1300s, the AIDS crisis in 1989, and a post-breakthrough world in 2030. Equal parts gothic horror and Capital-C Camp, Eduardo Casanova’s film revels in frilly dresses, hyper-stylized sets, grotesque prosthetics, and ferocious queer anger.
