For those who are unable to attend the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival in person—some of our programmers' favorite shorts are available to watch online!
CONTENT WARNING: Some of the shorts in this program contain mature and/or disturbing themes, and are not appropriate for all ages.
Three precocious Vietnamese American siblings—Lucy, Kevin, and Eric—are home alone again, ready to make the most of their unsupervised time. What starts as a simple mission to make dinner quickly spirals into a disaster in the kitchen and some questionable decisions. As their mother's return looms, the kids scramble to cover up the chaos they've created, coming together in a race against time to preserve their world... and keep their mother from worrying.
Director's Bio: Born and raised in Sunnyvale, CA, Lucia Tran grew up turning to stories as a form of entertainment and escapism—worlds that gave her comfort, sparked her imagination, and showed her what connection could feel like. That early love of storytelling grew into a career that now spans more than a decade of producing films, advertising campaigns, and editorial projects. Her work is often rooted in family and community, drawing on themes of love, cheekiness, empathy, and resilience. Whether collaborating with brands or with nonprofits, Lucia approaches every project with the same belief: that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to reveal our shared humanity.
