
Opened on June 22, 1979, Eve’s After Dark was known as a high-class after-hours teen club, located in Los Angeles, CA. Serving as the home for the musical group, World Class Wreckin’ Cru showcasing the talents of Alonzo Williams (Owner & Founder) Sweet, Ron Ron, Billie T, Dr. Rock and Unknown DJ. In 1982, DJ Yella joined the Cru with Cli N tel and Dr. Dre joining soon after. In addition, becoming a launching pad for Eazy E, Ice Cube and other West Coast artists, DJs and entrepreneurs, Eve After Dark also amplified the careers of many East Coast rappers. Run D.M.C. and Kurtis Blow booked their first L.A. appearances at the dance club. From humble beginnings to Super Bowl LVI recognition, the story of Eve After Dark, is one man's triumph to create a safe space for Compton's youth in the early 1980s.
