This event is co-presented by the SNF Parkway, the Film & Media MA Program of Johns Hopkins University, and the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund as a companion to the re-release of William Greaves's Nationtime, a documentary on the National Black Political Convention held in Gary, Indiana, in 1972. GEORGIA FORT
Georgia Fort is a two time Emmy nominated Media Producer and Television Correspondent. Her reporting has been published on CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox and CBS affiliates. Her mission as a storyteller is to amplify truth, inspire, inform and agitate change. Most recently she's focused on producing and reporting for Unicorn Riot, a non-profit online media organization. Prior to that Fort produced a short documentary "George Floyd: It Happened Here", which amplifies the voices of individuals who are from the neighborhood where George Floyd was killed. Fort also co-directed and edited the award winning documentary "Rondo: Beyond the Pavement" which is now available on Amazon Prime. The Minnesota native is now co-directing a documentary called "The Mothers" which follows mothers whose children were killed by police.
Georgia graduated from the University of St. Thomas where she advocated for student parents and diversity inclusion. She has three daughters and is married to boxing gym owner and professional boxer, Cerresso Fort. In 2007, after her oldest daughter passed away, she became an Ambassador for Faith's Lodge, a non-profit that provides wellness retreats for parents who have lost a child. Internally, her resilience is the catalyst that allows her to continuously reshape her own narrative as she outwardly advocates to change the narrative for her own community.

Niko Georgiades is one of the founding members of the independent media organization Unicorn Riot where he plays many roles: host, writer, producer, editor, videographer, and administrator. Niko has also worked with WE WIN Institute, a youth-serving non-profit in Minneapolis for over 17 years.
Niko has produced hundreds of media pieces from articles and videos to livestreams ranging topics from protests and resistance, alternative economies, to investigative pieces, arts, culture, and community building projects. Georgiades has extensively documented police killings in the Twin Cities and beyond, including the unrest after the death of George Floyd of which he is currently co-directing and co-editing a 5-episode series on, as well as working on ‘The Mothers’, a documentary on mothers whose children were killed by police.
One of Georgiades’ first documentary productions was a spotlight on Milwaukee’s 'Heal the Hood' events, which brought together street-organizations. In 2016 and 2017 while helping build Unicorn Riot, Niko coproduced feature-length documentary 'Black Snake Killaz: A #NoDAPL Story' on the Indigenous-led resistance to an oil pipeline. Since then, he’s made numerous short docs and media pieces contextualizing struggles and spotlighting alternatives, including many from Greece. Georgiades is also a published author and works to allow the stories you don't normally hear to be told, from the frontline of resistance to back alleys of change.

She works as managing editor of The Real News Network, an independent news outlet based in Baltimore City but specializing in national and international news. She is also editor-in-chief and founder of Baltimore Beat, an alternative news outlet specializing in Baltimore news. She’s been published in the Washington Post, Essence magazine, and the Columbia Journalism Review, among other places.
