Menachem, a former frontman for a rock band, is now religious, and a father to a six-year-old. When his daughter is diagnosed with cancer, he must find a creative solution to fund the expensive treatments. He reunites his band for one last tour. The journey to save his daughter exposes old wounds and allows him to reconnect with his secular past. Menachem understands that only a new connection to his past and to his music can pave the road to his own redemption.

Passover Context: One of the traditions of Passover is to connect with the past. If not simply by reuniting with family, it can is also by reconnecting with a lineage of tradition. The film Redemption explores reconnecting with past and finding resolve from closing open wounds. In the seder, we sing the song Dayenu. It is about how one miracle would have been enough. Similarly, one element of sorrow would have been enough for the family in this film. On Passover, we ultimately tell a story of redemption. What must we do for redemption?
