A teenage girl on the edge of a cliff struggles with her self esteem. Fate drops her in to an alternate reality where she is protected from a looming reaper by a guardian fairy who takes her on a journey through a town of wandering souls. They draw her in with music, art and dance that challenge her to find the ancient sage who can show her the path to discover her true value. (Its as if 'Alice' fell onto the rabbit hole and ended up in the Moulin Rouge.)

Niobe, a weary traveler from an unknown land, carries with her only the pain and suffering of all the people she has encountered along the road. Niobe arrives at an impassable wall, an unavoidable stop. She uncontrollably begins to release the held sadness that she has collected.
The communal tears start flowing through Niobe. She becomes submerged in the tears of humankind. The water that at first was drowning her, begins to cleanse. With renewed strength, she reemerges.
