Hundreds of cheetah cubs are being stolen from the wild, decimating the wild population in Africa, to be smuggled illegally into the Middle East and sold as pets. This short looks at the illegal wildlife pet trade and the role social media plays in the trade of exotic animals online.

Director's Statement:

This film came about through 3 years of researching what the Cheetah Conservation Fund and other NGO's were doing in the way of conservation. During this time, we realised that there was a big focus on the illegal trade of dead animal parts, but no one was telling the story of the illegal trade in live animals, especially those destined for the pet trade. The role of social media in the trade, the parading and trading of exotic pets, and what it's doing to the natural population, is something everyone needs to know more about.
