Religion, culture, tradition and geography greatly affect the roles we assign to animals. On December 20th, 2018, President Donald Trump signed the 2019 Farm Bill into law. The Bill included an amendment that expanded the prohibition of animal fights, already illegal in each of the 50 states, to all U.S. territories. A year after the Bill was enacted, cockfights would be considered illegal in the territory of Puerto Rico after existing on the island for 400 years. The film explores how the animal rights movement and shifts in public policy challenge a cultural tradition.
