Becoming a jewelry designer was not a part of Casey Perez's plan. Born and raised in Dallas, TX to an immigrant family, Perez grew up wanting to pursue a conventional career—one that promised stability, predictability, and financial security—even if it meant setting aside her creative ambitions.

That was until one decision during her time at New York University reignited her creative spirit and set her on a path she never expected.

La Joyera is a short documentary that explores Perez's life and work, taking viewers inside her journey as an artist and entrepreneur.
