In the summer of 2020, tens of trailers and houses succumbed to the Almeda Fire in Medford and the surrounding rural towns of Talent and Phoenix. These two segments recount the immediate challenges and long-term aftermath Latino/a/x migrant workers face as they continue rebuild their lives in Oregon’s Rogue Valley. Alongside key social service agencies, these segments also echo planners’ and residents’ aspirations for improved city and federal services and support at the onset of critical emergencies.
