<a href="https://www.sjdt.org" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">San Jose Dance Theatre </a>(SJDT) has produced San Jose's longest-running live production of&nbsp;the classic Nutcracker&nbsp;story each year since 1964. When the COVID crisis struck in its 55th year, SJDT took this Bay Area family tradition outdoors for a one-time-only special event featuring excerpts of The Nutcracker filmed on location around San Jose.&nbsp;This unique production incorporates for the first time the new San Jose Dance Theatre Ballet Company, the students of the <a href="https://www.sjdt.org/ballet-classes-schedule/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">San Jose Dance Theatre Academy</a>, and some favorite guest artists.&nbsp; The Story: On Christmas Eve, young Clara falls asleep after the family Christmas party. As the clock strikes midnight, Clara is transported to a wonderful world where toys become larger than life, her beloved Nutcracker defends her from the evil Mouse King and stunning Snowflakes dance delicately. A joyous explosion of color, set to Tchaikovsky’s inspired score, San Jose Dance Theatre’s&nbsp;The Nutcracker&nbsp;is sure to enchant audiences from the very first moment.&nbsp;
