One of the most popular and influential bands in the history of Latin music, Los Tigres del Norte have been superstars for five decades. The band has sold over 40 Million albums worldwide, while notching 24 #1 albums, more than 50 #1 singles, and placing more tracks (66) on the “Hot Latin Songs Chart” than any other artist or group. A combination of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen for the Latin community, the band is often called “The Voice of the People”. They consistently speak out on issues of importance to their community—such as immigration, racism, migrant workers, LGBTQ tolerance and much more. Los Tigres del Norte have won seven GRAMMY Awards and eight LATIN GRAMMY Awards, and numerous other awards and accolades. To this distinguished record, we are pleased and proud to add the PJIFF Icon Award.
In addition, Luis Hernandez, son of Los Tigres' Luis Hernandez, and American Idol contestant Demi Moreno perform several songs and announce the Best Mexico Day Film Award.
