Turkey, a village, today. A French filmmaker of Armenian origin returns to his roots. Four times in three decades, the director and actor Serge Avédikian returned to Sölöz, his grandparents' village located 170 km south of Istanbul. Throughout his successive returns from 1987 to 2019, he has drawn from this experience a powerful film on the themes of identity, historical truth and reconciliation.

The film is poetic journey into the world of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and their dire situation dealing with water in their everyday life, hygiene, sewers, agriculture and more.

Hayk returns to Armenia from his latest stint as a migrant worker, coming home to celebrate the New Year with his family. His wife, three children and mother wait for him in a distant village. He soon realizes that he has lost his position as the head of the home, and the distance separating him from his family is not just a measure of physical space.
