This film is a unique audio-visual exploration of finding joy in all the turmoil that surrounds us. JOYFUL uses timelapse, hyperlapse, drone video and astrophotography from around the world with dramatic sound design and music overlay to contrast our fast-paced contemporary lifestyle with simple moments of joy and calm that provides us respite in all the chaos.

Fight or Flight chronicles the journey of the first female pilot employed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Drawn to flying as a means to flee her early trauma, she pursues a career in professional aviation and discovers she must first assemble the tools required to face her past and heal. In an industry where matters of mental well-being and “mental health” are rarely discussed, she aims to encourage a culture of whole health awareness and resources in aviation, and to stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual abuse.

<a href="https://www.gothamtaxidermy.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Divya Anantharaman</a>, a visionary, Brooklyn-based taxidermist and queer woman of color, is transforming a once bloody and violent practice into a beautiful, ecological, and humane work of art. A "cabinet of curiosities" in its own right, this short documentary film is ultimately a call to action: to remake the world with creativity and care, righting the wrongs of the past one loving, skillful stitch at a time.

Rearranging Skin: A Love Letter To The World

For more than a hundred years, movie makeovers have promised audiences that with a little help, any ugly duckling can transform into the belle of the ball. Why has this trope continued to capture our imaginations? And what has it taught us about ourselves? Featuring clips from nearly a hundred films, MAKEOVER MOVIE immerses us in the candy-colored, kinetic, and kaleidoscopic world of the makeover montage. Alongside these iconic images, the director and her friends—all women of color and/or queer women—share personal reflections on the racialized, heteronormative, and contradictory beauty standards at the core of the movie makeover.

The misty forests above North Vancouver, British Columbia are hallowed ground for mountain biking, a place so harrowing it’s influenced every aspect of the sport for over 30 years. It’s also where Betty Birrell, at age 45, picked up mountain biking after a career as a mountaineer and professional windsurfer. Three decades later, the single mother is a role model for her son, her friends and anyone she’s met along the way—and proof that you’re never too old to send.

DANI’S TWINS captures the highly unusual, high risk pregnancy and early parenting journey of Dani Izzie, one of the few quadriplegics in history to give birth to twins. When Covid strikes, it raises the stakes for an already complicated pregnancy and, with the filmmakers physically distanced, puts the documentary at risk. Incredibly, Dani works with the team to capture her own story, despite her limited dexterity and the strains of pregnancy. Amid these ups and downs, Dani’s story depicts her unwavering determination against all odds to deliver healthy babies and be a great mother.
