Directed by and featuring activist and organizer Elle Moxley, BLACK BEAUTY follows Elle in the midst of 2020. Through slow cinematic moments and meditations, BLACK BEAUTY quietly observes the storied organizer in and around her hometown of Columbus, Ohio, as she embarks on a personal journey with loved ones from the past to explore concepts of love, belonging, and home.&nbsp; Through intimate conversations with her mother Lisa, her childhood friend Tonika, and her dear friend Samaria Rice, BLACK BEAUTY traces Elle’s story—from her early experiences as a teen in Columbus, becoming a founding strategic partner of the global movement Black Lives Matter, to her organizing work for Tamir Rice in Cleveland, and beyond. As Elle explores her history, she relays her vision for our collective future—a vision that suddenly feels possible in this rapidly changing world.&nbsp; BLACK BEAUTY is a cry out for hope, change, and the importance of self-love. BLACK BEAUTY is an invitation for us all to return home to ourselves.&nbsp;

Together, in a place with unique and daunting challenges, José and their friends are modeling grassroots change, working together to create a community of love, activism, and mutual support.

Cazembe Murphy Jackson (he/him), a Black trans activist living in Atlanta, Georgia, shares why his access to abortion was vital to his life. After developing severe depression following a sexual assault, and quickly learning he was pregnant, Cazembe's abortion saved him from suicide. In the first short of Trans Bodies, Trans Choices, Cazembe's story demonstrates the life-saving urgency of abortion access.

An intimate take on the life of a transgender woman living in Caracas, Venezuela during the lockdown of 2021. Her emotional story from boy to girl. Her daily physical transformation. Her thoughts and experiences with hormone intake, her relationships with men and, her worries about her future. She lost both of her parents but she got a 'father' in the community who supports her. Through her struggles, we learn about the current situation that transgender people face in a country where they're denied rights while observing their performance in an LGBTQIA+ club open during the lockdown.
