ABBY AND EMILY GO TO PALM SPRINGS is a brief glimpse into the lives of two very different women from equally divergent worlds who have just started dating, as they try to navigate their particular language of love on a road trip to Palm Springs. With the occasional intrusion of friends from both camps, it doesn't attempt to resolve every romantic blunder but instead exposes the raw roller coaster of emotions that rise to the surface even as love starts to set in. It is at times funny, maddening, confusing, painful, and in the end, very real. In short, love drives you crazy. But it’s worth the ride.

Acclaimed Queer Filmmaker and content creator Yuval David continues his multi-award-winning inventive and groundbreaking ‘One Actor Short,’ in which he unites narrative, documentary, and reality formats to create an unscripted episodic film. Yuval’s unique approach to man-on-the-street filmmaking showcases his remarkable creativity. He steps into public areas and assembles a diverse cross-section of humanity - all of them strangers – casting them as actors in his film. He creates a safe space for them to be playful and spontaneous on camera. “Representing diversity in my work happens naturally because I am representing the people who make up our society,” says Yuval. “I have a mission to entertain, uplift and inspire, which goes hand in hand with my mission to use art for social change, whether through inclusivity of underrepresented communities, or in the roles I portray or create for others.” Yuval starts each production day with a blank slate, not knowing what kind of film will be created, the genre, storyline, or his actors. He directs his film crew and each immediately found cast member through improvised scenes, bringing new characters to life, and eventually creating a film on the spot as the storyline is woven together. This radically innovative and bold series, which already includes four different short films, including a crime procedural drama, a romantic comedy, a sports film, and an end-of-the-world film – has quickly become an award winner and festival favorite.

Andreas and Alessandro are two friends who have known each other since their childhood. Now that they have grown up, they study at University in different cities but they always spend the summer together in the place where they were born: a seaside resort that regularly fills up with tourists every year. They have two opposite characters: taciturn and diffident Andreas, expansive and optimistic Alessandro; lonely and without sexual experiences the first, full of friends and already engaged with a girl for a long time the second. Summer is now coming to an end; both Andreas and Alessandro must return to the city to resume their University life. Andreas will be leaving in a few days, while Alessandro has to wait for his girlfriend, Daniela, to do some things in the family, in order to be able to come back with her. Before leaving, Andreas decides to give Alessandro a gift: he leaves an envelope full of printed selfies in his friend’s mailbox, some of which are dedicated on the back, hoping that Alessandro will finally be able to notice the love that Andreas always has tried for him.
